Inexpensive and Fancy-Free Fundraiser Advertising

Breast Cancer Awareness FundraisingFor most people, the importance of fundraising for breast cancer is obvious.  The money raised and donated to charitable organizations fund research, make mammograms more affordable, and in the case of events like walks, raise public awareness.  Generating a buzz around fundraising events can often propose a challenge especially if the event is on a smaller level.  Here are 3 easy as 1-2-3 ways to inexpensively publicize and promote your event:

  1.  Social Media:  Announce the event on your personal Facebook page and ask people to share it on their timeline.  If you are a blogger, be sure to include a write-up on your blog.  Outline the details of the event and speak to the importance of the cause.
  2. Most companies these days have an internal newsletter, whether traditional print or digital, to keep employees in the loop of what is happening around the office and in their business market.  Utilize this to promote your event.  Write an article encouraging participation or if you’re more graphically inclined, draw up an image that contains the necessary details.
  3. Spread the word around town by requesting permission to post flyers in local businesses, on library and post office bulletin boards, and in supermarkets.  The tried and true method of paper advertising won’t cost you too much, only the paper and ink for your home printer.  The flyers don’t have to be fancy or even overly sized but make them as eye-catching and informative as possible.

Now that you have the necessary knowledge to promote your fundraising event…get out there and hit the ground running!  National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is only a few days away!
